What the app collects
Nothing. The Sleepy Sip app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn't send your information to us or to anyone else.
The camera
If you choose the drink check, Sleepy Sip uses your iPhone's front camera to see you take a sip. The camera is only on while a check is running. The video is analysed on your iPhone as it streams and is never recorded, saved or uploaded. In low light the app may take a single photo instead; that photo is checked the same way and isn't kept.
If you choose to scan your water, the back camera reads the barcode or QR code you set up. Only the code's value is stored, on your iPhone, so the app can recognise it next time.
What's stored on your iPhone
To work, the app keeps a few things in its own storage on your device:
- your alarms and their settings
- your streak and the creatures and accessories you've unlocked
- your saved water code, if you set one up
This never leaves your phone. Deleting the app deletes it.
Notifications
If you turn on the bedtime reminder, the app schedules a notification on your iPhone. It's created and delivered on the device.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases go through the App Store®. Apple handles your payment details; we don't see them. Apple's own privacy policy covers that information.
This website
The website has no accounts, ads or tracking. If you use the contact form, we receive what you type into it: your email address, your message, and your name and iPhone details if you add them. We use them only to reply to you, and we don't share or sell them.
The site is hosted by Netlify, which receives and stores form messages for us. Netlify's own privacy policy covers how it handles that data. To have a message deleted, ask us through the same form.
Children
The app doesn't collect information from anyone, including children. The contact form isn't meant for children.
Changes
If anything here changes, for example if a future version adds a feature that needs data to leave your phone, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that version ships.
